Electron’s philosophy is ” improvement is always possible” and 2015 was dedicated to improving the magnetic brakes, and their controller, thus resulting in a more reliable system.
Traditionally, breaking systems become unbalanced with use. Electron significantly reduced this effect by means of the following:
Mechanically: The new disk is completely smooth, and the magnet has the poliurethene pad integrated to it. This configuration allows more consistent pressure and as such makes it less prone to inbalance. Also the gap between the disk and magnet is less, which also provides greater breaking power. Like the first version, the friction is between disc and poliurethene pad (never metal to metal). This is to avoid any residual magnetism, and allows the main wheels be completely free as soon as the brakes go off.
Electrically: A new high tech control unit with internal gyroscope has been developed. The gyro will compensate for any imbalance between the main wheels, and to help keep the models trajectory on the runway. This controller (GS200) does this by mixing the brakes with the steering. This is especially helpful in warbrids.
In the following chart we can see the pair/amperage ratio of our brake system; tests are made with 2s and 3s Lipo batteries
The wheels are made from a 7075T6 aluminium rim and vulcanized rubber tyres. The tyres are empty inside and work with atmospheric pressure, so they are not inflated . All wheels are equipped with bearings.
In the next diagram, you can see different parts that you can share between wheels. All wheels use the same magnet, or for as you can see you can if desired convert a 90mm Wheel in 75mm Wheel by changing just the tyre.
Our electronic retract controllers RB-45, RS-200 and GS-200 have an integrated brake controller, if your plane doenst have retracts, you can use just the E_Brake controller, lighter than the complete sets.
Electron brakes are made from special materials having undergone a long development process. Thanks to this and combined with the Xicoy controller Electron are able to obtain a smooth breaking system, with low power consumption and great performance.

The next drawing shows the width from the magnet surface to the external bearing, and to the tyre. The tyre is an approximate width, because it can vary about 2mm between different tyre sizes. Antirotation pin distance is shown in the second drawing:
The nose wheel uses the same technology as the mains. 7075 T6 aluminium rims, and rubber tyres. Nose wheels are equipped with 5 or 6mm bushings, instead bearings.
The nose wheels are available in 60mm, 70mm, 75mm, 80mm, 90mm diameter and for 5 or 6mm axles.
